Re: My rooster got killed by a pitbull!
Great video, your chickens come running like a bunch of cows! Our pastor has a great interest in chickens, he has several different breeds and every so often he takes a bunch of the over to Madison to some exotic animal auction. There are usually several several cartons of eggs in the vestibule on S...

Re: Feeder and stand all ready.
I made my feeders from the orange plastic pickle barrels and the squirrels have been doing a number on the lids which are 2 piece, a lid and a rim, sorta' like a caning jar. Been using them for better than 10 years but the squirrels have about won the battle. Duck tape has been the answer for years ...

Re: How To Make Your Dog Loyal
Interesting read! Thanks for posting. A good dog is a real blessing and you are correct, how we interact with them makes a world of difference in their responses to us. We have 2 dogs at this time, a 1/2 Chocolate Lab 1/2 Australian shepherd, an Aussiedor is what they are called and a mini-Dachshund...

Re: Our 6pt from our property.
That's great! I too know that feeling, the 1st deer harvested on our own place. When we moved to our farm 48 years ago there were hardly any deer around. We had to go some distance down in the sandhills to run our hounds. Over the years the deer have moved in and now they are sometimes a pest in our...

Can't blame you for not wanting him around a camp site! Good job, bellyacher.

Re: few of my newest finds
The patterns on the pottery shards are interesting. I knew a feller that keyed on pottery shards just for the reason so many were different patterns. I hadn't paid much attention to them other than just seeing a design, there are several different styles as he pointed out to me years ago.

Re: deer finely down
bellyacher, Congratulations! That's a fine buck for sure. I sure miss the camaraderie we had on this forum a couple of years ago. I don't check in too often but this morning I wandered in and found your posts. I've been out of commission until recently, had a Reverse shoulder replacement done in Apr...

Re: Panhandle buck
Sittin' here lookin' at the forum and realizing it's not being utilized like it once was, kinda' sad. To finish up the Zone D hunting for the year we go back to bow and M/L for the last week of February. I only shot my M/L rifle one time, had a terrible time finding my muzzleloading gear. I cleaned ...

Re: Panhandle buck
Was able to down another Panhandle buck yesterday evening about 5:40. Didn't need the dog to find him but just to "humor" her I took her to the woods and let her "find" him. He went about 50 feet before he pile up. The tractor wouldn't start so we had to drag him to the house behind the cart, gettin...

Hadn't checked in in a while so I'll go ahead and add a bit of a tale and some pictures to back it up. Last Thursday afternoon I went to my old shooting house here on our place and watched several deer come out of the woods and enter the food plot. All were does, big yearlings and a couple of fawns ...

Very nice bellyacher! Keep lookin'!
Haven't found a point in a while. The last one came from the back yard of the church fellowship hall. It's located on a lake and there where a wash had occurred was a nice point when I opened the car door.

Hey jtcmedic, we're still around once in a while. Looks like you done got a good one! What kind of a "magic call" did you use to get this old boy to come running? That left beam looks like it is almost flat, palmated I believe is the word. Congratulations! Oh yeah, I would have like to seen y'all lo...

Re: Does anyone else find it strange that FWC is being so quiet about the new deer rules??
I followed this a while back on the FWC web site and read the points you have posted and I suppose I'm not knowledgeable or maybe not smart enough to comment on what benefit they will be. You feel there will be more record book deer and that seems to be the motivator, bigger deer. I suppose that is ...
