Re: What kind of AR sight are you using?
Back about 20 years ago I used a Tasco PDP1 red dot sight on my Ruger Super Redhawk for few years. I never had any problem with that sight and later it was moved to my Ruger Mini-14 for a while and now it sits on my Remington 870 slug gun. It has never had any problem despite sitting on some heavy r...

Re: What kind of AR sight are you using?
I have AR carbines with several different sights. I have a Meprolight Reflex, EO Tech, Aimpoint, ACOG TA01 and more recently a Leupold 1.5-4X scope. I've used these sights in competitions and training classes over many years and have found some to be better than others. I started with Meprolight Ref...

Turkey call suggestion for newbe
I would like some suggestions on what turkey call to get this year. Last year I didn't use any call and just waited at spots where I've seen turkeys travel frequently. This year I would like to try a call. I'm looking for some suggestions on a call which is easy to use. Something easy to mess up. I ...

Re: Snakes
My neighbor told me that areas where hogs are active will have no snakes as they'll catch and eat them all. I don't know if that's based on any truth but I have to agree that parts of my property where there was recent rooting activities never seems to have any snakes.

First one with handgun
I went up to my place this afternoon. I went alone as wife and son will be sleeping over at in-laws place where all the kids are coming to spend the weekend. I went up there to get a pig as I planning on cooking one on the grill for the families on Sunday at my in-laws place. When I got there I took...

Re: Mid Day Hunt on the Full Moon?
Its rare for me to see hogs or deer during middle of the day. I would guess about 95% of hogs and deer I've seen were between 30 minutes before to 90 minutes after sun rise or 90 minutes before to 30 minutes after sun set. Few times I did see them in middle of day were during dark/heavy overcast day...

I had all 4 of mine pulled when I was in college. I didn't have insurance and I didn't have money and I was in a lot of pain so I volunteered at the medical school as practice subject. They had 4 oral surgery students take mine out under supervision of a surgeon while under general anesthetic... whi...

Re: Any luck calling in deer?
I grunted at a buck few weeks ago early morning while I was getting ready to climb up my stand. I was just curious as to what he would do and I figured he would just run off. He was about 60 yards from me walking across a small opening between couple trees and he responded by turning and walked dire...

Re: Whitetail predators
I spend a lot of time up in my stand early in the morning and evening and in last 18 months I've seen 3 bobcats but no coyote. I've even spent few nights with bait (hog remains) out in the field and never seen coyote. I've seen couple of what I think was coyote (could have been dog) tracks around my...

Re: Bass Pro fall sale
I went to the one in Dania last week and picked up couple of those UA high performance shirts that wick away sweat and keep you cool. I don't know if they really work but they have Mossy Oak pattern so I look cool in them
