fishing/hunting Social Club?

I recently moved to the Debary area in the Central East Coast. I am looking for a social club or simply a get together of like minded fish and hunting people to hang out with periodically and talk our sport and maybe plan some trips. I know in the past the members of this site have tried to plan BBQ...

Re: FIRST GATOR TAGS

I know I won't be able to net a gator. I referenced bully netting because of creeping along the flats with a spotight. I don't think I will be able to scout much however I am going to spend several nights there so hopefully I will get a feel for the lake. I think I am also going to.try to make it to...

FIRST GATOR TAGS

I was awarded gator tags this year for the first time and am going to hunt lake Istokpoga. I have never hunted gators before but have been hunting/boating all my life. Is there any advise some of you seasoned gator hunters would be able to pass on to me. Is there anybody that may have knowledge of l...

out of state lodges

My wife and I want to go to a cabin sometime during the mid to late winter (Jan, Feb) in hopes of seeing snow. Since I cant be in the woods without wanting to hunt something I have made a deal with her that we could try to mix hunting into the vacation. My wife isn't what you would call a woodsy gir...

sugg. on places to camp

A friend and I want to take our wifes on a camping trip. We want to be some where near central Florida or a little north. I would prefer a place which is relatively remote, we would like to walk our tents in somewhere or at least not be surrounded by RVs and buildings. I have been looking at some of...

Re: What do you all have scheduled for the rest of the seaso

I think I am done for the rest of deer season. I have hunted off and on for over a months so far and my wife is getting on my case. Don't mind though BC I figure I need to save brownie points for turkey season. I have shot several nice deer this year so its OK, plus the wahoos, tunas and groupers ar...

When I got it I noticed the barrel was machines wrong. I sent it back to ruger and they put a new barrel on it ( or at least they said they did). Afte...

Re: Why wear camo for hunting?

I have several thoughts on this topic. First, the patterns on camo clothes are geared toward blending in with the outdoors. Yea, will it prob be as effective if it were the same patterns in tie die colors but if you are making or buying the clothes wouldn't you just make them into shades of green, I...

Re: Illinois hunt

I was reading more on that whole scoring thing and I think I added extra measures. The deer is going to score more in the 130 range. I have never cared to measure them so its new to me. The boon and crocket website has you take several measures that ur not supposed to add. Still my largest deer tho.

deer cooler?

Has anybody ever tried to make a small stand up deer hanging cooler using an insulated box and a window unit AC. Posting an earlier post got me thinking of how I could hang deer to age in Florida but with the heat you cant just leave them out.
