Re: What to do? Lease guest took wrong deer?

IF IT'S BROWN, IT'S DOWN? All well & good if legal & the shooter were on public land or HIS OWN lease. HE WAS A GUEST & should have respected the wishes/rules/requests of his host or the lease regardless if it were legal or not. The leases place/their rules, don't like em, play elsewhere.

Re: What to do? Lease guest took wrong deer?

WHO is "they", did the other lease members not want the deer shot, or the 1 member only? As a guest he should have respected eithers wishes. If shooting the forbidden deer got the member in hot water with the lease, then sorry, no more hunting for him or his kid. A guests actions reflect on the pers...

Re: Deer hunting tips for a novice

DEER don't know what side of the Mason/Dixon line they are on. Knowing the area, (bedding/feeding/food sources/water/ escape routes etc.) North or South, is some spot on advice.

Re: Deer hunting tips for a novice

I remember wanting to get on the scoreboard & have that first one under your belt. My tip, not just for beginers, would be to take a pause & be sure that this is a deer I want to shoot, & is at a good range/angle/safe backstop/ I'll be able to drag it to the truck from here, BEFORE firing. There are...

Re: Where have you all gone ?

I don't do many things as much as I used to. (wink imogee here) Other interests, tired of the "what have you killed?" BS. There's more to life than killing, & hunting is NOT ABOUT killing to me. I still check in now & then, just nowhere near as often. I wish everyone well however.

GREAT YEAR FOR MOLE CRICKETS!

Worst year ever for them. Anyone try button weed or partridge peas to attract lara wasps? I've read they work better than insecticides, & are free & permanent.

Re: Anyone weld?

Got some camp chairs to weld? IDK how much you have to weld. I found a retired old guy to do work at a very reasonable price was cheaper than the cost/time to learn the skill & DIY.

5-6 wt able to handle it?

For small ponds & streams probably, for saltwater flats/tarpon no way. You could always use a higher pound test leader/tippet to land larger fish on a smaller rig. For a 10 y/o & growing like a weed, I'd concentrate on knots, stick to more open areas unless you enjoy untangling knotted up flies from...

PYRETHRIN/PERMETHRIN/ALLETHRIN

Per a quick google search. Pyrethrin is derived from chrysanthemum flowers, permethrin is a synthetic form of the same thing. Both are used for similar things. Allethrin is listed as one of the major ingredients. Allethrin D was not mentioned. If used INCORRECTLY ALL could be dangerous, ESPECIALLY f...

Re: Thermocell Max life

NOT A CHEMIST, but allethrin D sounds like it might be a brand name for the same Permethrin, (or very similar) used in many human bug sprays & for animals/barns etc. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK & be sure of your dilutions. It wouldn't hurt to check with someone that uses these chemicals for a living, like ...

SHOULD HAVE SEEN IT COMING

When 4 adults bring 2 bottles of whiskey, jello Tequilla shots, beer for a (weekend?) trip, that should have been a red flag that someone was PLANNING on getting **** faced. After the first btl of whiskey was done & no signs of slowing down, a BIG TIME red flag Should have dawned on you to get your ...
