Yeah, trolling for brookies is a ton of fun especially with light gear. Those little suckers sure put up a great fight.

Re: Canadian Brookie Fishing
This year there were lots of grouse around, the best we had in years. That dog is just a mutt but my brother's best friend. I believe he is part blue tick hound but he definitely takes after the other part as he isn't a hunting hound.deutze wrote:how was grouse/woodcock season? that a bird dog?

Canadian Brookie Fishing
My brother, myself, and some friends were at my camp this weekend for an east coast lobster boil, some brookie (small speckled trout), and some wheelin. My bother would most likely kill me :death for posting his pic of what happens the night after the night before :clap We caught over 35 brookies in...

Re: Roof time
15 years and that's it...wow, that is quite often. Even with all the maples leaking their damn sap on my roof, the bad winters, the snow, and harsh north winds we can get 20 years out of ours. I had mine done last fall, including new sheathing, and it costs $6.k. It better last me 20 years....lol

Opened camp after snow is gone
The snow was finally deep enough to get into the camp to open it up after the winter months on March 30th. I had some friends over for a turkey fry :bbq , some wheelin :tank , and some shootin :gangsta . My buddy brought is 2 kids for some shootin and his young fellow, 10 years old, was a natural as...

Re: BigFoot
Holy crap...that is one big bear :tank . The only other place I have seen black bears that big is in North Carolina. If that is any indication of what happens when they close bear season for so many years, the FWC had better think twice and open the season up. Little wonder they want to use the pict...

Re: Theft At My Property
That sucks big time! The vandalism tells me it was young'ns. It wasn't a theft thought but a party idea IMO. Allen is right. Set up a IR cam on the road in. They'll be back if it was kids. I would stiil relax while I was there but tell them to keep an open eye at all times. If they see someone is t...

Re: hey retired guys I have a few questions
I retired 1 year ago at 55 years old after working 33 years in the banking business. For the past 12 months it has been a steady flow of chores I neglected over that 33 years. The problem was I did the chores with a vengance and ran out of projects. I started a very small black bear outfittting busi...

Sucks to lose 100 lbs of meat and not a good way to start the week, sure wish I was close to ya, I could use it for bear bait.
