Ok, it isn't a whitetail but it has a heck of a rack. This is a photo of a young man that is a friend of my cousin's son. It shows him with an absolute monster non-typical mulie he took this year on CO's 2nd rifle season. The buck was taken in unit 421 on the Grand Mesa and the hunter is basically just a local meat hunter and was hunting with a group of friends including my cousins son. As soon as they got to town they took the buck to the local DOW office and arranged an official B&C scorer to look at the buck. The green score is 311 B&C points. The buck has 18 points on one side and 19 points on the other with a 42 inch spread. This buck is currently at the taxidermist and can't be officially scored until a minimum of a 60 day drying period. If the 311 score holds this buck will be #9 or #10 in the world.
As soon as the buck was in the taxidermist shop the young man went back to the high country to try and fill a cow elk tag. Good to see he has his priorities right. Not bad for a local guy hunting meat on his own. This is truly a one in a million buck!
Cheers

Re: Huge CO Non-Typical Mulie
I went to CO in '03 elk hunting (first rifle hunt). The day before the hunt we were riding with the rancher and he was showing us where to go the next morning. We came around this massive draw and he said there was a mulie in there that was 36" wide. Now being a cracker, a 15'' deer is a monster I couldn't fathom a deer 36''. Wouldn't you know it, we saw that deer standing out in a clump of bushes. That's the biggest deer I have ever laid eyes on. Can't imagine what a 42incher would look like
