Live from the tree

Post by Triple Creek Reaper » Sat Sep 17, 2016 6:34 am

20 ft up in the air this morning, that was some moon last night, made it an easy walk in. It's quiet I expect they will be moving late. Anybody seeing anything?

Once that wind picked up Saturday morning my day was done. Climbed down at 10 and headed back to camp for a great day of college football. The heat being what it is, not a bad opening weekend. Multiple members seen some nice bucks, one of them released an arrow Sunday morning but it was deflected by a branch. He immediately climbed down, cut the entire tree down he was so mad. We are seeing some pre rut chasing, all of the scraps and rub lines are active and being hit regularly.

Just got back in from hunting all weekend, I am sorry to report our camp had 2 wounded and lost over the last 3 days. Both high hits in the shoulder area. The timber cutting that took place since last fall has really changed deer movement through our lease. We hunt in the morning and then die in the heat in the afternoon adjusting stand/camera locations trying to catch up with their new travel patterns.

Well I just climbed up in the tree for the very first time this year. Sadly to say I haven't done my homework this year. Actually I shouldn't be in the air today I have got to much going on for me to be sitting. This is the first time that I have been down to my camp this year. To my credit I had planned to come down here next weekend and clean up there is two trees that had fallen in the camp yard and will take a chainsaw and tractor the good thing is that they didn't hit the camp. It isn't too hot take the moment and the skeeters won't carry you away

Man had a dry evening but didn't surprise me do the not doing my home work. I'll add the time in this year and keep the corn piled high and it will pay off.

Just got back from 9 day Quota in Chassahowitzka saw does and fawns every day at all different hrs from 7am to 5pm no horns at all. Several guys said they shot at and missed and one guy said he shot one and couldn't find it in the swamp. So only one 5 point was taken for the 9 days. So now Chass is open for anyone that wants to hunt for the remainder of Archery. I am going to wait for Black Powder before going back again maybe the bucks will be moving by then. Good luck to everyone trying in this heat but at least the moon fell over now. The trees were full on acorns this year and the does were taking full advantage of it.
