This lil' piggy
Figured I would go sit for a few minutes this morning and try to shoot a porker. When I got about 1/2 way from camp to the woods, I realized I forgot to grab my game cart, didn't have my 4 wheeler and not sure I had any rope. lol, I could hardly move from the work I did day before, so I thought to myself.."don't shoot one bigger than you want to drag". Got it. Plan in place
I think I may have been in the blind for maybe a total of 10 minutes. Feeder went off (it only is set 1x a day for 2 seconds) and before the corn even quit falling here they come down the pine row. There was 2 of them about the same size, about 30#, figured as soon as either got clear it was gonna go flop

Perfect grilling size once cleaned. That Savage 24 .30-30/20 ga is nice. I have the same gun. Congrats!
You need to put Nacho on that spot one morning or afternoon, he'd get a hell of a kick out of it!

Very nice. If you ever need someone else to sit in that stand just let me know. I could use some pork in the freezer about now!

I'm going to put up my ground blind at my lease. I didn't think It would work but now I'm excited. My sons make so much noise.
Re: This lil' piggy
Very nice indeed. I'm hoping to get my 1st one this year.

I took the pig and shoved it in my roaster oven. Put 2 packets of fajita seasoning on it as well as a couple cut up onions and bell peppers. When we got in from the woods I just shredded it and put the meat in burrito wraps with toppings like cheese, sour cream, etc. Very good

Congrat's, you picked a good sized one for that day, and the lack of a scope didn't seem to be a handicap for making your trademark behind the ear shot. How far from the blind to the feeder?

Re: This lil' piggy
It's not far at all. I sorta have that blind there to make it easy when I take my son or guests. Probably 30 yards max. We told BPS he could just stick that long barrelled flintlock in ones ear if it got close enoughnachogrande wrote:Congrat's, you picked a good sized one for that day, and the lack of a scope didn't seem to be a handicap for making your trademark behind the ear shot. Ever since I quit wearing glasses and switched to contacts, I can actually see the front sight again. Ive killed a couple with a revolver in the last year, and I never could have done it wearing glasses.

17 years wearing specs and they still suck. Can't deal with contacts for me, but good for you.
