Pig Attractants

Post by jtnau » Mon Sep 28, 2015 4:57 am

I have a new 400 acre lease west of Starke, Florida. The deer and turkey activity seems to be good to excellent, but what I really like is hog hunting. I am sure the surrounding pine forests must have some running around in them. Is there a way or trick to attract more hogs to my little piece of heaven? Your ideas are appreciated.

Thanks,
jtnau

Hogs are great but will camp at your feeders and eat everything. Personally i wish i had one property for hogs and the rest without. They tear everything up and will eat anything you put out to help your deer. I use gallon water bottles 3/4 full of corn, packet of raspberry jello and a part of a packet of yeast shack it and let it sit outside for a couple days. DO NOT PUT THE LID ON. The jugs will blow up. Also dont keep them in the garage cause your wife will kill you.
I like animals, they are tasty!

If you're luck is anything like mine just try to focus on deer and turkeys and hope that the hogs "don't" come and you'll be over run with them. I can't even feed other game due to stinking hogs.

Will the hog eat soy beans? I know we used that in feeders around bears?

You don't add any liquid in the jugs with the corn? Just the jello mix and yeast?

Listen to me in this one. Ive killed alot of pigs. And brought pigs to areas by doing this.
Get a 50 gal plastic barrel with an air tight lid.

Get 4 bags of corn and dump it in. Fill with water just above the corn line.

Get a six pack if the nastiest beer you can find (natty ice lol)

Let the 6 pack sit in the sun for a day to get hott.

Pout all the beer into the barrell and stir good. Let it sit for a week without opening it.

A week later open it up and stirr..

It will smell horrible. In about a month its ready. Scoop out a folders can worth and dump out under feeder.

Btw if its that horrible of a smell and you feel the need to throw up, no joke puke in the barrel and stir.

This stuff is so potent you will know when you smell it.

Watch in a week or so the hogs will be overrunning!!
