The gators are really boat shy right now there going down quick. We run bubble trails and was basically hunting blind. Found a good eater the first night and was happy to take him. The second night we blind harpooned another thinking from his trail he would be bigger but came up with the same size almost like twins, both 8 n 1/2 about 120 or 130 lbs. Non the less they were great fights and we had a blast. I love running bubble trails but man those gators are shy. The second gator had a buetifull hide lots of yellow in it, real pretty, it will make a great hide to put on the wall.

Nice! How was the water level and the plant life in Orange Lake. Is the hydrilla thick?

Very low the lake should be 8 or 9000 acres it is about 4000. It is a good level for gator hunting if they were not so shy. You will need a mud motor or an air boat to get there. The trail to the lake is about a mile long and I kicked mud all the way. Plant life is great. Plenty of hydrilla.

Hope it gets some water. Looking forward to some ducks this year. Just hate the crowd that Orange lake brings.

Well it will be good for the ducks but no cover for the hunters at least not all of them. I feel ya on the crowds. I miss the good ole days to.
