I know they are taking out a few spots due to low water. Some places are hard to reach with the water problem.
Not sure if I would rather be locked up with a 12 ft shark or helping dogs pull down a big ole hog.

Yep I made the call down there and they told me Orange and Griffin are closed .
there we're also a couple others.

I haven't been on any other lakes so I most likely wont be getting a tag this year.
I think they should have at the least sent out this info to license holders from last year so us out of state guys could have got a game plain together and found another lake.

Guy told me there weren't enough adult gator's on Griffin to be hunted .
that's funny!
I hunted that lake 8 nights last year and seen more gator's over 8'' then I ever had anywhere
Also i never seen a nother hunter but seen lots LOTS of gators.
I stuck 1 over 12' the first night and lost it . then spent all my time looking for a monster over 12 foot witch i seen but couldnt get a arrow in one for one reason or a other .
Maybenot filling my tag wasn't so smart and i should have filled the quota tag with something by the last night and sent the report in.

Hommosassa was removed from the hog quota system for next year and are extending the open small game season for ALL. seeing as all quotas have been issued for years with very little to no hunters showing up, I think it's a good idea. it prevents tree huggers from grabbing up quotas and hunters that get them that don't show up or hand them back in in time. maybe it's something like that.
