Re: Camo Patterns
Camo (in my opinion only) IS overrated. Buy clothes that are comfortable in whatever style you want and don't worry about patterns too much. Just need to break up you outline a bit. Scent is 1000x more important than camo

Re: Camo Patterns
mix match your camo. If you wear all the same pattern top and bottom the your just make a siloutte of your self. Unless its just for fashion then it don't matter
Be polite, be professional, BUT have a plan to kill everybody you meet
Re: Camo Patterns
I personally spend extra on all matching camo just because I feel it compliments my orange vest.

Re: Camo Patterns
Does this pattern make me look fat? IMO it's something that matters more to the hunter than the game, with the possible exception of turkeys. I like predator camo to break up your outline but colors aren't perfect for here, also like ap realtree but I doubt it matters much if you can stay still. I'd look more into the choice of fabric materials. the fabrics that won't pick up burrs are nice, but don't breath as well. A Hawaiian shirt you wear around town can work in the woods fine. Tourist camo, it's just hard to find camo knee socks and sandals.

You need something you can hunt with by day, and go to a Jimmy Buffet concert at night.

Re: Camo Patterns
What he said. If often sit in pine trees in Realtree's Max-1 camo, which is a brush pattern for out west (also looks like palmettos), if I think my other sets of clothes are just too scented up. I haven't been busted yet. I am crazy about scent control and movement. I will try to match the pattern with where I am going to hunt, but in the end the cleanest set of camos wins out.Iluv2hunt wrote:Camo (in my opinion only) IS overrated. The patterns I have are:
*Realtree Max-1
*Mossy Oak Treestand
*Mossy Oak Break Up Infinity
Re: Camo Patterns
I once read a story about some hippy type guy in Wisconsin that hunted on a strict budget. So strict I think he actually didn't have a real job and lived mostly off the land. His recommendation: Buy the cheapest sweats you can find in either black, green or brown and then do a tie-dye type bleach job on them, wash them in unscented soap or baking powder (whatever) and wear them over your normal clothes - use items in the area you hunt for scent cover (ie - pine needles, dirt.....)

Re: Camo Patterns
/\/\This/\/\ . I have just always worn whatever I had, mixing and matching whatever, mostly cotton clothing. Up in my old camps in GA when it was cold, it really didn't matter. However now that I am hunting in Central FL full time, hot as h#ll.....I went ahead and invested in some UA Early Season tops & bottoms, stuffed is called storm cloth. wicks sweat, has scent control, wind & rain resistant. Its not cheap at all but I am not sure why I waited so long to get something like this, the material is great. I am a lot more comfortable now, I sat through that rain Saturday morning for 3 hours and wasn't the least bit uncomfortablenachogrande wrote: I'd look more into the choice of fabric materials. .
