Before and after, just finished the game cart

Post by swissk31 » Mon Sep 07, 2015 3:51 pm

So I finally decided that I am getting to old to be dragging my kills out of the woods.I collected some supplies from work, I work at a senior residence so wheelchairs, walkers, conduit ,nuts and bolts, are thrown out from time to time.

ImageI re purposed this walker frame added two wheelchair wheels, a little conduit here and there, and a sling made from an old safety harness. It's balanced very nicely (got the wheels set in the right place), and it tilts nicely to help load the animal. I loaded myself up and Jay took it and me for a test drive, It handled nicely. I am little heavier then an average Florida deer. I have some loops to attach straps to and a padded hand grip to add, and it's ready to go.

Dang! That looks great swissk31. Very impressive. I'll have to admit though when I saw your first photo of the walker I had to chuckle. Actually I laughed a bit until I scrolled down to see your handy work. Looks like a store bought. I'd use it! Great job!

Not bad looks like quality work.
Now don't take this bad. Wider tires for sugar sand and mud but light tires. I also learned a low center of gravity is good and a slight negative camber give stability over rough terrain. This is for the next one. This one is fine. You built one you want to build another.
