An EASIER way to refill your Thermocell Cartridge.
The brass fitting is what stops and starts the flow. When you poke the hole in the material that is under the fitting that is what allows you to be able to re-fill the cartridge. When you put the brass fitting back in push it in real good. Then fill it with the KING butane can.The whole process is to poke the hole so fluid can go in.Everything else will be just like it was.
Well I don't have an empty one laying around..LOL..but here are the basics.Grip your needle noses right here.. Pull that brass fitting out,and under it poke a hole with a needle. When I say under it.I do not mean the brass fitting.I mean under it where it was sitting. The hole will go into the chamber of the cartridge. This will allow the butane to go in.Again.Make sure you use an empty one.It may hiss, but don't be scared.A sewing needle,or pin is preferred..Without poking this hole the canister will not re-fill.Push that fitting back in..Make sure it is seated.
Get a can of this.. Find the fitting that will fit in your brass fitting... Cut a small v-notch here.. Put the tip in,and push down...Only fill about like the new ones are.U can make a mark with a permanent marker to know when to stop. Voila! You're in business...Now don't tell everyone...only your friends.
BTW this post will self destruct in a few minutes..lol

Also you can go into the section at walmart that has the curling irons for women and they sell the EXACT SAME cartridges for curling irons. They even say Thermacell on them. And they are a lot cheaper then buying the Thermacell refill packs in the hunting area

I can't find them. Can you take a picture of the box so I know what to look for?

all in all ints not worth it to buy the conair ones.. reason: you cannot buy the pads seperately (that i know of) and then you have a ton of cartridges and no pads.. the best deal is to buy the ecomony pack for 20 bucks.. lasts a whole season.

Vision comes to mind: 2 Hunters dressed in camo smelling of scent checking out the conair stuff arguing over if pads are better.................

Gonna try this one sometime soon. I guess it's just me but I seem to have leftover pads all the time. I organized all my gear again this week and counted 34 pads and only 5 butanes. I just need to do the refill thing and I'm good for a while. On another note, I've been to the glades 3 times this season and have seen maybe 10 mosquitos so far. Haven't needed the thermocell yet.
