Youth Waterfowl Sat and Sun Hunt

Post by down4dacount » Mon Feb 04, 2013 12:38 pm

1st I want to give thanks to all the guys in UWF for doing 2013 Jack Bylsma III Youth Hunt at STA 1 and everyone who helped and donated . Every kid won something in the raffle and the food was awesome . Jambalaya kicked AZZ again . Thanks to both Bill's for cooking , Big Thanks to Milan , Ryan , Newton and everybody else who made this event possible . This is Christopher's 3rd Youth Waterfowl Hunt , but this one he was doing all the loading and aiming on his own . Still waterwhacking but doing the job . I told him next season it's time to shoot flying ducks . Here's a few pics .

Wow, looks like a great time! Beautiful birds and happy kids, proud parents. Kudos to you guys for perpetuating our great hunting heritage to our greatest assets, the kids. This stuff sticks with them forever, and leaves a much needed positive impression. I can't thank you enough!

I took my son out this weekend as well.
Out in Osceola there isn't much to hunt lately except bird so this was the prefect weekend.
Can you help me identify this bird?

There is a spot in the forest where there is literally hundreds every time.
I have been waiting for the youth hunt hoping my son could shoot one.
Not only did he shoot it, but he got it mid-air in dense trees so I am kinda proud.
It couldn't have worked out better cause I had to work this weekend and there was only an one hour opportunity.
Anyway. . Can someone identify?
I am not much of a waterfowl person.

Good to know, and probably good that we only had an hour. Literally there were so many there, if I did not have to work I might have stayed with my son and let him take a few more. Didn't know it was 3 per person, so the time limit kept us in check then :-)
Thanks for the info
