What kind of a duck is this?

Post by treefarmer » Wed Dec 11, 2013 3:55 pm

This duck is staying in a fish pond close to a deer stand. Not being a duck hunter, I would like to know what kind it is? Seems not to get too spooked as we ride by the pond, sometimes it just swims away and some times it flies to the other side and lands.
Thanks in advance!

Looks like a hen ringer. Notice the black bill with the white stripe toward the end.
