Got patches and Reba from hooves, paws and claws. Good girls!.They would rather chase their duck and squirrel than balls and Frisbee.patches fetches good. I thing Reba would be a good tracker.patches would be a good birder but don't have time or money to train her. The boys love em.ImageImageImage

Looks like the brown dog is a pit mix. And the white one looks like it definitely has English pointer in it. Looks like they are good and healthy, and looks like they love the boys. They are both smiling!

As far as meds go, I have all 3 of my dogs on Trifexis. It covers fleas, heartworms, and most of the intestinal worms. I did switch my cur dog to Sentinel because she is sensitive to the active ingredient in Trifexis (turns out she is allergic to a lot of stuff). Either one are great. Ticks are a bit harder as there are not many oral meds that will control them. You have to use a topical med that is applied to the skin. I am leary of them

You can save some coin and buy stuff at tractor supply to worm your dogs. A lot of people do, But I will stress this....you can very easily kill your dogs if you don't know what you are doing. I prefer to just give the pill that has everything in it to cover all your bases.
Congrats!

We us Nex-gard and Heartguard, it's by Rx from vet. 1 of each once a month. No fleas or ticks, Flossie is a 100% outside dog. Hope the Heart guard is doing it's thing on the heart worms, will do the annual test in a couple of months. Had an issue last year as we missed a couple of months.

x2. Every 3 months I skip the ivomec and use zimectrin gold just in case they could have tapeworms as well. I have been using safeguard (meant for goats) on pups and tapeworm pills but seeing hunters raising pups on Valbazen with less hassle and it seems more effective.

I used valbazen for my new litter but had to do a last round of safeguard cause the valbazan wasnt stopping the bloody stool. After the last round of safeguard all the pups were fine.
