Using a boat to hunt

Post by Backwoods » Mon Feb 01, 2010 9:46 am

How many of yall either hunt from a boat or use a boat to get to a hunting location? I have had sucessful hunts with dogs or from a tree. This is the first year i have hunted from a boat and had good sucess.

Just wondering if anyone else does it.

Shooting from vehicles, powerboats or sailboats moving under
power. Motors must be shut off or sails furled, and the vessel’s
progress must cease from such motor or sail before hunters may
shoot wildlife

I know you mean you travel to your spot by boat,we use to go down the Suwanne river by boat and hunt the refuge. My friends use to go up to Lake Seminole in the Panhandle and hunt Islands and have great success. I think they were actually in Ga.

all the animals harvested where from 3 different WMA. Most where harvested on Quota hunts or the new buddy system, i kinda like it. If you do your home work you get rewarded. I spend about every free moment scouting.

That's good, I wish I had time like that. I don't care to much for the buddy system, don't help the permit holder out much. HAts off to you though, that says a lot taking that much game on public land.Put up some pics.

i thought the new system sucked until i started using it this year. My hunting partner and i got some good hunts between us and it worked out. But got dooped out of one hunt because he couldnt go and that sucked. I have got to try and figure out how to load the pictures. And can i post them here.
