E10 Ethanol Gasoline

Post by flhuntfish » Tue Sep 21, 2010 10:45 am

I cannot find anywhere in Gainesville that doesnt have ethanol free gasoline, and im not gonna drive 50 miles just to get 6 gallons of it for the boat. So ive been looking at fuel additives like Sta-bils marine formula thats supposed to reduce the effects of ethanol on the motor. been using it on my last few tanks and everything seems to be running fine so im assuming its doin its job. heres a picture of the bottle.

Is this what i should be using? is there something better? what do yall think? :toast

Yes thats the stuff. Ethanol has successfully damaged every smaller engine I own. I use that stuff religiously now

My dad says he found something better than Sta-Bil that he uses in the twin 'Rudes on his big boat. I'll see if I can get the name of it from him.

I use seafoam in everything, mowers, generators and all vehicles, great stuff! Walmart has it.

And how many gallons does it treat? My tank holds 30 gallons. And does it bring back the fuel mileage that the ethanol crap takes away?

I have sta-bil. I was asking about the Sea Foam stuff. If it's worth the price, I'd give it a shot, but at $8-10 a bottle, it better at least improve my mileage enough to offset the cost.

I know where you can get sea foam free, but I'm not gonna tell anyone. My Yamaha is run strictly on #2 heating oil so it does not really have the need for sea foam. --- SAWMAN :pow
