Battery question

Post by Iluv2hunt » Wed Feb 19, 2014 7:42 pm

I am in the process of moving my trolling motor and deep cycle battery permanently up front in my gheenoe.
Question is, can I run my depth finder off of a small 12V battery such as this one?

(this is just one example of may that are out there)

It's just a basic bottom machine with no bells and wistles. If a small battery like this one won't support it, I will have to rewire the power cords for it to the front, which I am trying to avoid

Yeah I had a 'duh" moment. I remembered kayakers install depth finders and use similar batteries

Here is a question sort of in the same topic. How can you tell what voltage a solar charger might be? I have got a solar panel that is not labled 6 volt or 12 volt. So how can I find out what it is, so I can put it on a feeder

Hook it to a voltage tester and see what it's output is
