Ok im thinking about getting a kayak. What shoud i look for? i know theres sit on top and stuff like that.. I was in dicks today and saw one i liked for like 550.. not sure what to do tho.. not sure about them.. and the size of them for my weight..

any info?

get one you can mount a trolling motor bracket on...after paddling for several hours if your not used to it you can get seriously wore out

well they start at 1000 but come with a trolling motor in dicks sporting goods.

very true.... just get a sit on top (SOT) such as an ocean kayak, if you've rented one before, chances are it was an ocean kayak like a Ocean Kayak's "Mailbu II" model. you can add rod holders easily, a flush mount has the rod go into the hull, and a deck mount gives you greater flexibility on placement: see this page http://www.paddling.net/guidelines/showArticle.html?158

Crock,check on craigs list I sen a few on there for 2-3 hundred they were sit on top one had a pic and it looked pretty cool think it was 250.just do a search

There are kayaks made for big guys, but you are gonna pay dearly. The wider the kayak, the better support it will give. You need to look for something over 33" wide. Also, accessories will add up the price in a hurry. I think Flats1 has a Heritage Marquesa listed somewhere else with a hole in it (on top) that can easily be patched
3 things you NEED:
A good high back seat (trust me)
A good light weight paddle
A rudder

Call me and Ill give you the rest of a run down on Yaks. I have kayak fished for years.
Or google kayaks for big guys and you will find hours of reading on diffeent ones. If I had the money, I would have a Hobie
