WTF you gonna do, paddle to the Middle grounds???????
On the east coast alot of guys hit the deep water and deep drop. That's 1 of the reasons I want to get 1. Gps will put you on the structure with the right #s. Down here you can be on the reef line in no time.

Had a Kayak a couple years ago, it was a 2 person, and heavy.
Took it out into the bay hooked a 20lb Jack on 8lb line, and he pulled my butt/yak all over the place :)
I think they call that a Nantuckett Sleigh Ride!
Would like to try a repeat of that with a 50+lb Tarpoon!
I could likely make it to Cuba and back in that case LOL :)
New season coming up!

There are guys that go out and target tarpon out of their yaks. Personally, i see it as highly dangerous. I jumped 2 in one morning and cranked my drag down to break them off. A 10 pound jack will drag you all over the bay. I actually caught my biggest bass out of mine and she took me for a ride. It is fun getting drug around by a fish, but a 100# tarpon is dangerous

My kayak to me is nothing more than a floating tackle box. I paddle to where the fish are, use my stake out pole, get out and wade fish. When I kayak fish, I am actually in the kayak 1/3 of the time I am out. The rest is wading

I've been wanting to get 1 and take it to the shelf line and target sails and dolphin. There's a sailfish tournament down here where the guides make their own innertube rafts and get in the current with like 10 rods out. These guys got double and triple hook ups and end up with a dozen sails in a day.

seen that and its crazy. What about the guys that go out shark fishing in a yak :wacko
tarpon fishing is more dangerous then skark fishing.. shark fishing you will have a shark on the line. tarpon fishing you will get a mad asss hungry shark trying to eat your tarpon..

Tarpon out of a yak, not for me..Out of my boat, game on..Only a few more weeks they should start showing up..I did see guys catching kings out of yaks, that would be exciting!!!Crock, good luck with the yak, your my size and I ain't real crazy about fishin out of one, maybe if it had outriggers..
