Portable fuel tanks

I had no idea a new plastic 3 gallon tank was almost $40, and the hose assembly with fittings was almost $50

With anything marine they try to stick it you ya. I found a 3gallon tank at a yard sale but had to replace the pick up line inside, and the gauge does not work.

Yeah, I am starting "project Gheenoe" and am about ready to start tinkering with my 4 horse kicker. Figured I would start with the gas can. It was full of sediment and the fitting that goes into the motor was all gummed up. Figured I would run to Wally world and get everything new. I bout sharted when I saw the price of everything. I went home and tried to work on and salvage the can and hose, but I am not going to have a choice but to buy a new setup. Its all shot

This does not sound good. I just found out I have a hole in the fuel tank of my boat, (along with some bad fuel !**##!) I was going to buy and hook up an external tank for a trip coming up next week until I can get it to my mechanic.... Whats the largest external tank Wally World carried??

I have a 6 gal on mine. 12 gal just adds to much weight for my liking. But then again I bought mine to work the super shallow flats and try to keep the weight down.

I found a 6 gal at West Marine and it was $69....double the capacity for $30 more doesn't seem so bad ..... We do alot of running when down in the Pine Island Sound....I do not think 6 gallons would last one day, it might get me out but not back....

3 gallons is plenty for my boat. I can go 40 mile round trip (from Istachatta to hwy 44 and back) in my boat on one tank. What size motor on your Gheenoe?

4HP Mercury

I got a new fuel tank and fuel line assembly, and couldn't get it cranked. I dropped it off to my buddy at 2PM today, and he called me at 5PM with it running like a raped ape

Even though I don't have a trailer yet, I am gonna pile it all in the back of the truck and go run the Hillsborough river or bypass canal on Friday. Kid is outta school so I figured we would go take it for a test run. Maybe try to catch a bluegill or 2 while we are at it
