Close, but NO fried Turkey

Post by FLQuacker » Mon Mar 17, 2014 9:18 am

This was a second chance at this one.

He came in from a few hundred yards away from our right and passed out by the decoys to meet up with a couple of hens about 50 yards away to our left.

For about 15 minutes I went after him pretty hard....he finally started liking what I was doing, left the hens and headed back our way.

Here's the last few minutes of it.

Call was a figured walnut, slate over glass.

Unfortunately, I was using the waterproof cam cover and most of the sound was muted out. His anyway, but man was he thunderous :)

Man, I thought that is was gonna be game on there for a minute. IDK guess that something just wasn't right for him to commit. At least you got to have some action. Yeah I know sucks ya didn't get to seal the deal. Just remember it's called hunting not killing.

We had 3 opportunities in an hour and a half. The show I saw with my son beside me was awesome.

Yep...If it was all about killing, we'd a chose the guns

LOL I think that's his choice next week though :taz

Pretty close to seal the deal . Looks like your blind didn't have any outside cover to break up a little of that box shape . Also I would wear a glove on your shooting hand . This year hopefully I'll whack one with the bow . Good luck next time . BTW GoPro's are basically a self film view , maybe take a handhelm cam and mount on tripod pointed toward game .

Full moons make me crazy and I go out and kill deer . Come to think all moon phases do that to me
