Would you shoot one or not?
Behind my property there was about 60 acres of woods that was home to various critters. Last year I was able to set up a feeder and get some turkey onto my property and shoot one for thanksgiving.
This spring they cut down the 60 acres and with no feeder the turkeys have been on my property all summer. At first I thought SWEET! But the damned things have gotten so used to my place they forage through the grass with my chickens and ducks. They're so brave they hung out in the backyard ten feet from my swimming pool with kids splashing and yelling. They come to my back door and wait for me to throw out treats to the chickens for crying out loud.
This won't feel like hunting at all. Half the thrill of it is gone....

It would be like raising meat chickens. You could always hone your trapping skills.

Well to me 50 percent of my hunting-fishing value is food so if it if was legal to trap pen, legal yes. look at it this was catching a fish or shooting a deer is fun and its just as much fun eating it with family and friends.

For you I can understand but what about for a 1st time experience for a child, set the kid up just like they were hunting them in the spring and let them bag their 1st bird maybe.
No different than putting a kid on a feeder guaranteed to bag their 1st doe IMO.

Yes. And enjoy it when you are watching the Football games on Thanksgiving.

Hell it never bothered me to eat my farm animals. That the best type of pet to own - ones that pay you back.
Re: Would you shoot one or not?
Probably not. But if I decided to I'd use a bow and only take one off by itself so I didn't run the rest of them off.
