Jan 19, 1977 snow

Post by Iluv2hunt » Mon Jan 19, 2015 2:23 pm

Saw on the news that today was the day it snowed in Tampa in 1977. I was a whopping 4 years old at the time. I asked mom where the album was with the snow pics. I still live in the house I grew up in. Figured I would post a couple then and now pictures. Pictures are quite old and faded, but you get the idea....

Well I missed the big blizzard by 4 years but heard the stories of my dad and uncles pulling each other around on water skies . Must have been an odd sight to wake up to. Cool pics, and Id like to have that brand new 77 ford truck sitting in my driveway today as it sits there.

38 years ago we had snow on the ground in Washington County, must have been the same cold front that went through Tampa .
(I couldn't get the printer/scanner thingy to scan the pictures from Miss Joy's album, so I just took a picture of several to show what we were "enjoying" at that time. )
The picture with the car is on the 18th, a little snow on the ground, the other 2 are on the 30th of Jan 1977 with more snow. Don't remember too much about it but it was cold and we had 11 boilers running in the schools and it was a big deal to keep the buildings warm enough to have school and try to keep water flowing in the lines.

It's funny, mom has a lot of pics of that truck with me in them when I was a childrins. But I don't have any recollection of it
