My dog is an outside dog (unless it's thunder storming) then she comes hauling a** inside as fast as you can open the door. Her last house I built her lasted about 6-7 years and the floor finally rotted out. I figured this would be a good project for my kids and I to work on.
Saturday it was off to the Depot to get the wood and start building the frame. My oldest asked if she could help and I said sure. This is her learning how to use the square.
A couple hours later and we have the floor, walls and roof framed out.
That was it for Saturday.
Sunday rolls around and the kids had enough with helping out and I was on my own to finish it up. Another trip to the Depot was needed. A few hours later and I got the walls and roof on.
The old dog house was framed and roofed with the inside big enough to put the dog crate inside. My dog loved her house. It was like her cave. My wife wanted to get fancy and put a porch on there. I asked her if whe wanted a deck and a swing to go with it...
Sunday afternoon I was able to finish it up. Not too bad for a shadetree carpenter. This weekend I plan to put some felt paper down and shingles. Then my wife has a project to paint it... While I kick back and
