I wouldn't give up on FL permits this year. Perhaps you can put a group together and put in your selections in 1 lot to help your chances. GA hunting permits are $300/yr. I have hunted around the Okefenokee in SE GA, the Flint River Basin in Mid GA and the Greene/Oconee line on private land, I would atleast go as far north as Moultrie (Region 4) to hit up the WMA's along the Flint River unless you can get drawn for an SW GA WMA on the Alabama line.

I use to hunting every week end on a permit. I been trying this none transferable bull shart. 300 is what I use to spend of wma stamps so that's not a bad price. Just wonder how the deer are. Not concerned about bucks I don't really save the antlers.

oh yea I like there to be hogs I take 4 or 5 hogs a season. I like the big to the bigger the better they are. Big pigs make better ham and bacon.

I know nothing about there permit system, I am attracted to the fact of doe tags and cooler temps. I be looking mainly to the closer side of Georgia the south east. It faster to get there. I can be at the line in 3 hrs.

Hogs will be no issue anywhere around the Okefenokee, I have hunted on both east and west sides of it. That land can get real wet though so be prepared for that. Wasn't impressed with the deer size but we did get the cooler temps. They run a lot of dogs all the way around the Oke for hogs, bear & deer, although not allowed on the WMA's, dogs don't know the boundaries.

It cheaper than a lease and seam does are on the ticket. I have one friend that does it. I still need to learn more about it.

Keep us posted this year if you decide to go that route. I'm interested in hearing about your experience.
