Blanding still hunt 1

Post by kitespear » Tue Nov 20, 2012 11:01 am

I drew still hunt 1 22-27. Never hunted blanding before. Was wondering when the rut goes on. I know what the fwc map says but was hoping for more accurate assment from someone who has hunted there. I will be hunting Sunday- Tuesday Also I was wondering about the best place to camp. Or get a hotel.

Places to stay are few and far between.

Starke and Lawtey and Keystone Heights have some motels (old school ones)....If you have access to the base, we have a campground but the WMA itself doesn't. Goldhead State Park down 21 from the gate has camping.

That's the closest place by far! I hear it's a nice place to stay.

They've been doing real good up on north post this week with the dog hunts. Hopefully you have some luck on the still hunt too.

I'm not sure when the rut is but I can tell you that last year I saw quite a few fresh chasing tracks during the gun hunt.
