Re: HOG TRAP
I drop a rope on the hog and tie off then crawl in or drop them in their tracks. I also have a catch pole that tightens up on a leg and lift up and over or pull thru gate.
Re: HOG TRAP
I usually just rope their head and hold em' till I can get ahold of a back leg, this trap just has a funny door is all.My big azz aint going thru it,looks like it will ctch em' good enough,it's just getting them out.
Re: HOG TRAP
Catch and feed...and feed...and feed...and shoot.
Re: HOG TRAP
I fed two out last summer, they just don't grow like a durock or any farm ho does. They eat better but they just take forever to grow. I'd really like to get a domestic wild cross.
Re: HOG TRAP
Most of em up by us are just that. The sow and her 9 little ones at my in-laws aren't trapped up, but they are out at the feeder at 8am and 5:30pm sharp waiting for the feeder to go off. Had to increase the run time so the deer have something to eat. Mostly corn, but by adding some higher protein grain feed to the mix, they seem to be sizing up nice.
Re: HOG TRAP
When we trap em up, I'll give ya a jingle. I'm sure I can convince my FIL to give up one of em for the cause.
Re: HOG TRAP
That's farm hog not farm ho. I've seen a few big farm ho's back in the day.
Re: HOG TRAP
I've caught a few this year and let them go,I should be able to get a few more, maybe.
Re: HOG TRAP
kinda figured that's what you meant. But I hear tell that there's a lot of them farm ho's out there in Polk county just beggin to get caught. LOL

And just think this started from a hog trap.LOL
Re: HOG TRAP
Anyway possible to hook a job site shitter up to it? If you can I may be interested.
Re: HOG TRAP
we use our trap just to get the boars so we can cut them..twice a year.. and then turn them out.rest of time quicker just to shoot.
