Cracked limb?

Post by reel_spoiled » Mon Oct 07, 2013 3:48 pm

Please tell me that this is not a cracked limb. The pictures might be hard to see. However, after looking at the other limb it does not look the same. No striations in the decal/paint. Also, the 2nd picture is really hard to see but there is an area of paint that has popped up and actually caught my rag as I was wiping the now down. The limbs are obviously painted black so the paint really hides what is actually going on. Should I scrape away some paint near the spots to see what's happening? Should I purchase new limbs? Please help as I just noticed this and don't want to get hurt if it happens to fail. Thoughts?

Looks like a crack. Run some cotton over the limbs. Nothing should snag anywhere on the limbs.

No need for cotton balls. It already caught my rag that I was wiping it down with. It will certainly catch a cotton ball.

Definitly cracked. Sucks cause they usually crack on the edges. Use the cottonball to find the ones you cant see.

I would be a little worried about that. Have you called Mathews?

I haven't called yet. I wanted to get a few opinions on it. However, I'm confident this will cost me as they are very specific when describing warranty. It is non-transferable.

I purchased this bow several years ago from a private seller. It was a great deal at the time and I do not have contact with the person. I will give Mathews a call anyway to see if they will do something for me.

Does anyone have a ballpark of what the limbs would go for? Thanks.
