Snook 9-5-13

Post by CitySlicker » Thu Sep 05, 2013 2:32 pm

It's what's for dinner. Headed to the beach before sunrise for some fun. Threw the net a few times and loaded my well with 2 doz. pigs. What a waste of time all I needed was 1. Threw 23 back in the drink for tomorrows bait.

Was gone from the house like 40 mins, and back by 6:45am. Turned into fresh fillets by 7:00 while the coffee was brewing.
32 1/2 inches probably 8 to 10 lbs. Its been a long 3 year wait. Can't to fry him up with some cheeeeeeeese grits, and condiments.

Changed the rules also. You now need a fishing lic. if fishing from shore, and a snook stamp. Before none was needed for the shore fisherman.
I have a gold sportsman, but saw the man questioning a couple of guys about lic., and stamps. It was sweet cleared them out, and I had the snook waters to myself after that. 5:30am can't come fast enough. Should keep me busy, and cure some anxiousness till my first bow hunt.

He's up in the Panhandle, Panama City area. No snook that far north. I think they get pretty hard to find once you're north of the Tampa Bay area.

Just came back from Treasure Island area and I guess I missed the tide change. Not a single bite.
