Re: Bait fish
Open the can and just start flicking it out. You are making a chum slick. I've never had much luck bring in greenbacks, but it works great on pinfish.

Re: Bait fish
oh i get you.. well go buy a big bag of tropical fish food and mix with some dog food i think... actually DSIMPSON on this forum got a good mixture.. but when its mexed dry you just put the powder in a can .. then take the amount you want and pour water in it then it will be like a little thicker then peanut butter.. then make balls and throw it in the water.. it will sink and the bait fish will be all over the place...
Im not sure about the mixture.. hopefully dsimpson will chime in..

Re: Bait fish
I use chicken feed and Jack. I mix a can of Jack a zip lock bag(gallon size) of chicken feed and a can of sea water. Mix it all up and start flicking little bits of it out. They will come. It helps if you troll the flats and see some bait and then start to chum. Look for the birds diving on the bait. You will find them

Re: Bait fish
My dad used to go through all that mess with canned fish, catfood, sardines, etc. Then he bought a gallon jug of menhaden oil. Now he just takes cornmeal, puts about 2 cups in a ziploc, pours in about half a cup of oil, mixes it up good and throws it out a little at a time. Builds a nice slick, and greenbacks, pinfish all come to it. Less mess, less stench, keeps in the freezer, and simple.
