Bokeelia Spring 2017

Post by Triple Creek Reaper » Tue Apr 11, 2017 10:54 am

Just got back from a 4 day trip. It was windy as could be, never seen it so bad. Very large negative tides had us running with the jack plate all the way up all weekend long. Caught a lot of trout, most undersized. Did not see anything tailing or a lot of bait for that matter. We stayed close to the island and hit some back bays, did not see 1 tarpon the entire trip. In the last 15 years we have been fishing there, never have I had a weekend where 1 catfish was not caught. Could not believe it, it was a pleasant surprise not having to deal with those little b**tards. I think we came down a little too early this year, will try and schedule another trip soon.
