Scalloping at Port St. Joe

Post by Stevekcmo » Mon Aug 22, 2011 8:49 pm

How has the scalloping been in port St. Joe or Appalachacola? I would like to get out there this weekend or the next to stock up. Any updates on how it's going?

Also, where is a good spot to scallop with out a boat? Any ideas?

Wow, that brings back memories. I used to go up there with my uncle in Port St. Joe and collect scallops when I was a kid. He worked for the paper mill until it shut down. I'm not sure where it is but we did walk out from the shore to collect them and never used a boat. We always wore tennis shoes though. I know down here around Steinhatchee they are doing pretty good with the scallops.
