OK what do all of you think about fishing the tides?
From what i have learned in my fishing years is that... Fishing at low tide sucks bottom line. (If fishing from land). What i have noticed is that at low tide most of the catch is going to be pin fish, maybee 1 trout if your lucky and just cats..
I have also noticed that if your fishing and you catch 2 catfish back to back its a "catfish tide" and your whole night will be catfish.. Most of the time i throw out jigs and if nothing bites i put live shrimp in a cork.. then if nothing bites i drop to the bottom.. Thats when the catfish bite. And its not allways at the bottom because dropping to the bottom will also catch snook and reds.. its just sometimes theres a catfish tide..
I have noticed that fishing 2 hours before incoming to an hour after is usually the best tide. The fish are coming in with the tide.
Its also good to fish a 2 hours before lowtide high going out.. But better at the high cause you have more time to fish and better chances..
What do you all think about this?

Usually the last hour or two incoming and the first 2-3 hours going out are the best, with about an hour of slack time in between. Depends on where you are and how fast the tide moves through the area. Around oysters and sand bars, the reds, snook, etc. like to hang on the downstream side picking up crabs and other bait washed off by the moving water. On the grass flats they sit near drop offs or around sand holes and wait for things to come by on the tide.
Get out on a day when the moon is almost full, the tide is coming in and the barometer is dropping, and if you don't catch any fish you better find something else to do!
