PENNSYLVANIA FALL TRIP

Post by JBUG308 » Tue Oct 29, 2013 8:38 am

Returned this past weekend from another great week in PA. We did our part on trying to thin out the deer herd for the farmers. We didn't make a dent....
Here's pics of the couple of whopper does I shot. I put my gun on the 1st one just for a size reference.

So what do those small horses taste like? lol... What did she weigh?

My uncle used to have a cabin in the Poconos. We would ride at night and there would be hundreds of deer in the fields. That's one place I would love to go hunt.

I don't know the exact weight of them since I gutted them in woods, but I would say both of them went 160 or better. After field dressing the 1st one it took all I could to drag it about 20 yards up a hill and then I gave up and went to get help. They eat great! Get them mostly ground up to burger and a few steaks.

Goin to Indiana for muzzleloader in DEC! Those yankee deer sure are big! And the harvest limits are pretty nice too!
