Re: antler plaque
Scott, I just picked up one from D ick's for $16. It has a nice plaque with green felt to cover the skull cap. I got it for the 7 pt I shot the other day. As soon as the ants and white wigglers get done it is going on there

also. found a dead buck that one of my neighbors made a bad shot on. had been dead about 1 week. cut his horns off but no crowns. didn't want any of that stinking skin. is there a way to do something with these???

You can buy those artificial Euro skulls and screw the horns on them.I think I seen kits for them at Gander Mt.

Re: antler plaque
i found my seven point dead.(LOL) just looked cool. what is the difference. i have a stuffed pheasant i didn't shoot. but i have shot alot of them and ordering one from Cabelas was cheaper than getting one mounted. if that 8 hadn't had been dead as long as he was, i probably would have skull capped him. somebody put a bad shot on him and didn't recover him. why not honor him alittle and put his horns on the wall. but with an asterick (*). heck baseball record book is full astericks. lolCr0ck1 wrote:why would you want to mount horns of a deer you found dead?

Re: antler plaque
I have an antler mount here I did not shoot. I missed this deer in archery and saw him a couple times during gun. Funny, I found his skeleton during turkey season by my stand. No idea what killed him, I guess he got shot at the end of gun season. Just ironic he was within 5 yards of where I had been climbing
