WET!!!

Post by Iluv2hunt » Fri Feb 21, 2014 7:07 pm

Up at camp for the first time since gen gun ended. It was wet then. Now it's flooded. I was almost up to the seat on my 4 wheeler to get to my main spot. My boy will need waders to turkey hunt. This storm front today did a number on North Florida...

I pulled all 5 of my cams at the end of season, so I have no idea what's going on out there animal wise.

Yah this is crazy wet. I have a camera in a bad spot, tried to wade to it. I can see it with binoculars and it has about 4-5 " then it's in the drink. Please stop raining before then hens start nesting.

It pretty much all happened yesterday. It was a hell of a storm.

I used hip waders to get 2 stands out...good news is I saw turkeys in the high places. Water has reduced 400 acres to about 100.......

I was over in Gulf Hammock yesterday and it seemed drier then than the last weekend of gun, but the rain was coming down when we pulled out around 2pm. So the levels will probably get back up. I think its supposed to rain most of this week as well?

This was the trail going in. It is like this, and worse all the way from the road to the stand

The good news is, it's somewhat dry once you get in there. I threw this ground blind up for me and my son to turkey hunt out of in a couple weeks. Turkeys always come from this direction, so hopefully that green patch back there will have a floppin turkey in it come youth weekend
