Offshore trip :)

Post by dixie » Fri Dec 21, 2012 3:20 pm

Went on my second offshore trip this past weekend.

All I can say is I'm ADDICTED.
:fish

Half the grunts on the stringer are mine, as well as the grouper and hog.

Happy to say I caught my first hog fish!!
He ain't huge, but I'll take it!!

It's a good thing that you didn't go today or you probally would have had some rough seas if you went out today. But nice catch!

Ya the last one i went on was a pretty day but pretty rough, and the currents were strong. Thankfull this time it was a good trip. Water was pretty murky though. I'm just glad I caught the keepers to bring home so I could talk sh*t to the boys haha

I love offshore fishing, however my stomach and brain seem to have problems ever since i was out in 8 - 10 ft seas one time. nothin like pullin up a big grouper, or havin an big amberjack give you a workout.

Some people are like Slinkies ... not really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

So i see it starts. You know that's a gateway drug. It starts so innocent as bottom fishing then progresses to trolling for pelagics. In your spare time you will start to fantasize about bigger fish on lighter line. Then you will want you own boat. Before you know it you will be jonesing for Friday so you can head off shore.

Nice to welcome another junkie.

lol, ya I grew up freshwater fishing.. only did salt here and there. Then my bf introduced me to the wonderful world of catching stuff OTHER than bass and bluegill.. I'm hooked beyond belief. I dream about catching stuff all the time lol.
