Fishing with my Dad on 12/29/2008

Post by GoodOyster » Tue Dec 30, 2008 2:08 pm

Under the "Grouper Changes" thread I wrote about my trip with my dad, my son and my dad's neighbor. We went out about 17 miles, then fished a couple of spots coming in at about 15 and 10 miles.

Here's some pics:

At the dock around 6:50 am:

Heading toward Lemon Bay:

On plane headed down the Intracoastal to Stump Pass:

Me, happy to be going fishing:

My son, Justin, not too happy about pictures this early. If he knew what was in store for the day, he'd have been smiling!

It was low tide:

Headed to the pass:

Looking back toward the pass as we head into Gulf:

Finally some fish pictures!

Shots of the fish back on the dock:

Gag grouper and hogfish are the last to get "the treatment"

You'd think with a mouth that big this was the female, but it ain't!

Too bad the colors on these fade so fast. They are beautiful when landed!

Figured y'all had seen plenty of grunts and mangroves before, so didn't get any pics of them separate. Plus, dad can fillet those fish so quick I didn't have much chance to take any!

Now I can't wait for the next trip!

Some people are like Slinkies ... not really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Thanks for sharing the pics. I need to do some fishing. Hunting season is almost over and then I will get back to it.
