Post by Just 1 More » Thu Mar 08, 2012 7:25 pm

I've been out of the westcoat fishing for a while now and have been asked to go offshore tomorrow... not real far just out to some ogf the local reefs...
Groupers closed correct???
Grunts & Sea bass still able to keep?????
What about Mangroves?? Are they biting on the reefs and ledges???? Can you keep them???

Any help would be appreciated

I'm south of you a bit and there are reports of flounder around the edges of the reefs. Heard snapper is hit or miss, but if you find them shrimp was the bait of choice. Good luck and take lot's of pic's.. :toast
Some people are like Slinkies ... not really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

I'm pulling out the flats boat myself tomorrow. Going on a tarpon expedition with some buddies Saturday afternoon into the night. Hopefully gonna put a couple newbies on some big ones. Not sure what's in season anymore though. I usually pic up the latest regs at the marina when I put in. Good luck J1M

Yes....Yes & Yes, with this full moon I would expect some action.........I hear you on the regulations, it is frustrating. I was thinking about pulling out the flats boat this weekend too but taking my son to do some good old fashion catfishing up on the St Johns.

I keep every ladyfish I can catch, cut them into chunks and freeze them for bait later on. I have had good luck on reds and grouper using them.
