NC in 2 weeks

Post by bellyacher » Mon Oct 24, 2016 10:53 pm

Will be headed to NC in 2 weeks for the black powder opener. 16 years hunting stepdads place and this will be the first time for ML. Always gone up for archery and bear opener and first of dec. during rifle. Went to the range Saturday and dialed in the scope.1" group at 100yds so I should be ready. Chompin at the bit.

Back from NC. weather could not make up its mind. cold, windy and overcast. then cold, windy and sunny. One day was cold and 30-35 mph winds with gusting to 50+. very dry no rain for over 30 days. Next county over had a forest fire so last 2 days was very smokey. Very little deer movement. Did see about 12 the whole time. Seen this day before last hunting day. Range finder said 84yds. In the freezer now.First ML deer... Pics to follow

Good job! Looks like the muzzleloader did it's job. What bullet and powder combo did you shoot?

How did you like the muzzleloader, I switched to blackhorn 209 loose powder and my grouping 100 yards is tight

Like it just fine except the part of not seeing anything after the shot. my 100yd was 3 shots one big hole about 1.5"
