Pellets. Definitely pellets. Life is too damn short for powder. And, while you are at it, set up speed loads. You can thank me later.

try them both and see what shoots best. loose powder isn't hard to work with in a pre measured speed loader tube.

I have a ML barrel for my Mossberg 500, and the factory says dont use over 80 grains, so I am stuck with powder until they make pellets in smaller than 50 grains.

Needless to say I also like to be able to tweak the load back if the wife wants to shoot it, or up to 80 if Im huntin big-game. At 75 Gr with a powerbelt I am getting 2" groups @ 100yds so I am happy.

I have some air-tight vials w/screw cap, that I pre-load up with powder and mark them with a marker so I can quickly grab whatever I want. Unscrew cap, pour into barrel drop in projectile, insert 209 Primer and im ready to shoot.

I believe someone makes a 30gr pellet, might have to order it by mail. pyrodex I think.
