new sidearm revolver
Nice little 1851 Navy Colt replica 36 caliber Black powder revolver. Really disappointed how rusted most black powder guns are at the shows, but this one was OK. Only a few stupid things have happened to it, like dry firing (mark on the trigger). Just have to order some supplies for it, as the local stores carry only 50 cal.

I don't shoot BP so forgive me if this is an obvious answer. Why would dry firing a BP revolver hurt the trigger or firing pin?
Re: new sidearm revolver
My bad, I shouldn't type just before bed. I should have said the hammer. Dry firing leaves a ring indent on the hammer. It's not too deep, I think people don't realize how hard the hammer drop is on these.
Little known small Italian company Pierino Ruschetta. They mainly made shotguns. Not much info on them.

Dry fireing will mash the leading edge of the nipple causing a bad fit of the cap which could lead to more than one chamber going off at a time. (AKA chain fire)
Talk about something that will leave a stain in your shorts.
A cap that fits the nipples are a must.
Here are my babies, A Colt Navy .36 and a Colt Dragoon .44 The dragoon is a fun shooter 50gr of 3F under a .457 round ball.

Nice, I don't see that many with the squared back trigger guards.

You might try Dixie Gun Works instead of Cabela's. They have much better inventory and they actually know about what they sell.X711 wrote:who's it made by?

i got the pietta 1858's remy copies from cabelas for 170/8" and 140/5" on different clearance sales, with free shipping and used cabela's points to make them completely or almost free..
thanks for the reminder though, i'm due for a BP range session soon as i need to resight in the inline anyways.
