YES Finally

Post by TerribleTed » Sun Nov 03, 2013 8:33 pm

Bagbed my first deer of the year a 6 point.
It was lunch time at the truck. put my chair on top of the tool box. sat back my bud just back. He just pulled the hot dogs out of the cooler and bam theres a BUCK.
I dropped out the chair and took aim. This is a little bit of a long shoot so i adjust for the drop and let her rip. All i see is the puff of smoke and the deer bolting. My bud said "man did he kick" translation you hit him.
So after a bit my Dan starts to walk down to were he thought it was turns and look at me still at the truck and shrugges his shoulders . I waye at him go farther. Then he makes the goal sign. I get down there and here is a blood trail Stevie Wonder could fallow. The buck made it less the 40 yards. I guess the 348 grain hollow points dont mess around. We drag it out back onto the trail. Dan decided to pace it off end up 155 paces the shoot was thru the lower chest Hart area. well what was left of the lower chest.

pics to fallow.

that 348 grain hollow point drops like a rock. But were i was hunting there are some awesome hogs. I mean the biggest wild hogs i have ever seen. I saw 4 of them but not in range. Dan said the whole pack of 30 with the small one looking like 150lb. Both of use have take 200 to 300 lb hogs and the one i saw made my last 250 lb one look small.

Processed it last night. Lost part of the right shoulder. The round entered thru the ribs on the left and I guess the leg was back destroyed the middle part of the leg. We still recovered 39.5 Lb of clean deboned meat Aprox 20 lb burger, 20 lbs steaks & roast. Not bad for a 100 lb deer.
