I hit the pond behind my house the past two evenings had a ton of hits on lizards but couldn’t land a single one. I had two shake the hooks, I saw the red of their gills and it killed me.

Hello HTTR! Welcome to the forum. Good to see some new young blood with a fishin' pole!
Yes sir, Crock time to start catchin' them ol' bass.
I got to thinking about having a few bass for dinner, Friday morning, while my wife went to her therapy workout so I got my ultra-light with 4# line and hit a couple of the old cow ponds here on our place. I caught several on the tiny jig with red head and a light green rubber tail. Kept 2 for our lunch, one was a female full of roe. They sure were good!
Didn't even think about taking a picture, sorry about that as a picture always helps with our outdoor tales.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. It is surprisingly hard to find a good fishing forum for this area. Any luck lately?
