Great Experience Swimming with Manatee in Crystal River

Hey everyone! Shelby and I recently stayed at the Plantation on Crystal River (highly recommend btw!) and took a manatee tour with their Adventure Center. We honestly weren't terribly excited about the tour but ended up having a GREAT time! We went in July so there was only one manatee, but still so cool to swim with it and see/hear it eating. They took us to another spring afterwards to just snorkle around which was cool because the water was crystal clear. Definitely gotta give it a try if you've never done it.

Thank you! Yes, we definitely want to go back in Janurary or February when there will be tons of them.

Very interesting critters. Great video! When I was a kid back in the middle 50's, we had cousins that lived on Merritt Island and back in the woods on the west side of Banana River, the "sea cows" would be in the canals where we would go to swim. They would surface to breath and it was a little bit scary to preteen boys! Man, that seems like a long time ago!
Thanks for the video and for stirrin' up an old man's memory!

Treefarmer that's a really cool story, thanks for sharing! Wish the manatee population wasn't so small today and that you could swim with them wherever. We see them sometimes in Miami and even a west Broward canal recently. Makes Crystal River that much more special that they allow you to swim with them.
