Ticks

Man they are bad all of a sudden around here. I have been walking my pup every afternoon at a couple different parks. These are SWFMD parks, not a little park in a subdivision. So far I have pulled ticks off of me, her or both. Big old brown dog ticks. Today she and I went to a different park with real tall bahia grass. When we got back to the truck we were both covered. Had to give her a bath when we got in. Just now found another one on me. Last week I had one lodged just below my knee, and it has been infected since then. Can't remember seeing this many dog ticks
Also saw a ton of deer and hogs this afternoon. Oh, and some cat tracks the size of my hand. lol

Having been hiking with pups and I get more ticks than the dogs. They are on comfortis so I don't know if that helps or not. The chiggers love me more.

The Comfortis works great but I've had 2-3 dogs have sezures and come to find out it is a possible side effect. FYI

It's probably a reaction to the spinosad. My 2 wieners take Trifexis, which is the same flea med, with no issues. My sister almost had her yorkie die on spinosad. I am taking my cur pup to the vet in the morning for her first check up and shots since I got her. I have to get her on something because she is picking up ticks and a few fleas from walking
