Good thing to know. Any idea how much alcohol is used or do you just fill it till it puddles like a zippo? Good post Allen.

Re: Soda can alcohol burner stove
I'm making one of those tonight!
Re: Soda can alcohol burner stove
I have couple at home that I had built many years ago.
I made them out of soda cans and use alcohol for fuel.
I also have a little stand with wind blocker that I built with coat hanger and aluminum foil.
Once it gets going it sounds like a little jet engine.
They will boil about 2 cups of water in 3 minutes if you use a small pot with tight lid.
I used it couple times while out hiking for a day and wanted to eat hot meal.

There is a link to the instructable for the improved version with a wind shield. Pretty cool, probably going to make one soon. Been needing an excuse to buy a dremel for awhile.
